How can we leverage different datasets (satellite/drone/lidar/ insitu and models, and AI) to understand the composition and health of tree canopy?


In this project, we use remote sensing and AI (satellite, drone, and LiDAR data) to map Austin’s urban tree canopy and assess its composition and health. The purpose of this project is provide actionable insights for climate decisions, including flood planning, wildfire risk mitigation, and scheduling maintenance for city-owned trees and infrastructure.
